::Week 4 - International Friendship Day and MLEA Ice Cream::
Sunday, April 15, 2012
Phew! This week has been filled with so much fun activities. We celebrated International Friendship Day as well as Rainbow Day 2. Rainbow Day 2 performances were done by our P5s and a P4 class. These classes performed so well and we could see the joy in performing together as a class! We also learnt what International Friendship Day was all about. Besides that, in class, we discussed and shared about the culture of frendship and having friends from other countries too. Jie Xin was wearing a nice 'batik" outfit that originated from Myanmar and Jian Tong was wearing a Cheongsam originated from China. I took the chance to put on a pretty 'saree' that was lent to me by a very nice teacher in school, Mdm Pavithra. I told my class that I may not be from India and I do not speak the language but I can make friends with people not of my same race and culture. Friends always do things together and one of them is to wear the same clothes. Furthermore, since we were celebrating International Friendship Day that day, why not have fun and enjoy wearing the same kind of outfits together. I managed to create engagement and discussion in class for sure!
Some sneak peeks of International Friendship Day cum Rainbow Day 2:

We had our ice cream party too last Thursday along with the MLEA Group writing. My pupils truly enjoyed decorating their ice cream sundae as well as eating them. Check out these photos:
